Wash Away Negative Thoughts

A meditation in a quiet time can be so powerful, whether a listened walk through or just a thought that then flows into your mind and evolves as you sit and breathe.


This meditation can help you release old, past negative thoughts or incidents. Sitting comfortably and breathing gently for about a minute to allow your mind and body to settle into a calm space. Each meditation is as long or as short as you feel comfortable.


When you are ready, take a deep breath in and, as you blow out, think of one word, a sound, a smell, or even a picture that evokes a feeling you would like to release.


Capture this word, smell, sound or picture in a net, like a net used as a child flying through the air or into water or sea. This image gives a softer vibration when you have a sense that you have gathered up all that you can at that moment in time, and empty it into a paper bag.


Now, bring to mind a small river and a waterfall feeding a body of water. See the flow and energy as it moves past you with strength. Drop the paper bag into the waterfall and watch it move down with the fast-moving water in the river below.


On its journey, the water soaks through the paper, washing and cleansing all that was inside of it. Its contents are scattered in all directions with the energetic flow and movement over stones and gravel, through weeds, and never to join together again.


And symbolically, you are being washed and cleansed, and all the spaces can now be filled with inner love and acceptance, peace and golden light with sparkles of individuality. When you feel ready, smile and take a deep breath, followed by soft breaths as you return to the room.
